Brief Description:
The proposed Special Session, "Microgrid and Energy Management Optimization and New Energy Technologies" aims to explore cutting-edge research and developments in the field of microgrids, energy management, optimization and emerging new energy technologies that are shaping the future of electrical engineering. This session will provide a platform for researchers, engineers, and practitioners to present and discuss their latest findings, innovations, and practical experiences related to the design, operation, control, and optimization of microgrid systems. Topics of interest include but are not limited to advanced energy management strategies, integration of renewable energy sources, smart grid technologies for microgrids, optimization algorithms for microgrid operation, resilient microgrid configurations, intelligent energy forecasting, real-time monitoring, adaptive control algorithms and integration of new energy technologies in microgrid systems. The session seeks to foster collaboration among experts from academia and industry to address challenges in enhancing the performance, reliability, and sustainability of microgrid systems through effective energy management practices and optimized system configurations.

About the Organizers:
Prof. Wen-Chang Tsai, an accomplished electrical engineering and automation graduate from Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology in 1987, continued his academic journey with a master's degree from the University of Strathclyde in 1992 and a doctorate from Sun Yat-sen University in Taiwan in 1997. From 1997 to 2024, he held positions at various institutions including the Air Force Institute of Technology and Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology. Currently, he is a master tutor at Xiamen University and a full professor at Tan Kah Kee College. Prof. Tsai published 88 proceeding papers, including 34 SCI journal papers, guiding students to success in innovation competitions. He has supervised over 18 research programs focusing on industry-university cooperation and government initiatives. Additionally, he contributes to academia as an editorial reviewer for SCI international journals.
Prof. Te-Tien Ku, received the M.S. and Ph. D. degree in Electrical Engineering from National Sun Yat-Sen University in 2006 and 2012 respectively. He is presently a full professor at National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology, Member, IEEE. His area of interest is smart grid and applications to distribution systems. He published a total of 64 international symposium proceeding papers including 30 SCI journal papers. Moreover, he guided students in their design and development work, leading them to success in various innovation competitions. Throughout his career, Prof. Ku has been actively involved in more than 57 scientific research programs for industry-university cooperation, Ministry of Science and Technology programs.
